Isaiah 43:1-11, 18-21

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliationthat is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliationTherefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us.  – 2 Corinthians 5:17-20

What waits around the corner, where will taking the next step take you?

Dayton First Church of God, Journey, Isaiah, Next Step

The Spirit tells us in Amos 3:3 that two cannot not walk together unless they have agreed to do so, You cannot walk with God if you are going your own way, and in order to leave your way and go His way you must believe and turn your life over to Him.

The problem is that we tend to only give God a part of us, we are not completely devoted to Him, His Church, or His will. If you have not agreed to walk with God, then where are you headed? We are either on the journey with God or we are with the world… There is no middle of the road, you cannot be headed in two directions at the same time…  So to not choose – to stay where you are – is to choose to reject Jesus. It is refusing  to be On the Journey God has for You. No decision for Christ is a decision to reject Christ. Not taking your next step is to choose to remain where you are, as you are; stuck, stale, and stagnant and can be left behind if You refuse to move

Jesus said, Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters” (Matthew 12:30).

You either serve in His Kingdom or you serve the world. You have to decide to take the Next Step on the journey with God in the Kingdom and it will take effort.  You have to decide to put on that New life, to accept it and grow in it.  That will involve change and a willingness, a want to, and effort for that change to happen.

When you decide in your heart (with your will) to live for Jesus and His kingdom, believing, then you will be empowered to walk in His will.

When we walk in this world, believing, that is called faith.

Each of you as Believers are called to encourage, challenge, and help those around you (your neighbor) and they are called to do the same for you. We are to be disciple makers while being disciples who are devoted to the Apostle’s teaching, the fellowship of believers, worship, and prayer.

If that is not who you are, not what you have been doing, isn’t it time to maybe make a fresh start? Isn’t it time to let go of the past, take the Next Step, and see what God has for you just around the corner? The old has past.

In the past have you experienced loss, physical: loss of health, loss of prosperity?  Maybe you have experienced hurt, physical, emotional, or even spiritual?

Have you have you thought of yourself as unworthy, troubled, or a sinner?

And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying aloud, “Have mercy on us, Son of David.” When he entered the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” Then he touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith be it done to you.” And their eyes were opened. – Matthew 9:27-30

If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. – Proverbs 24:10

(Exodus 18:20) and so God says to you and I “You shall follow my rules and keep my statutes and walk in them. I am the LORD your God” (Leviticus 18:4).

The Word of God in Jude 1:20-21 tells us to build ourselves up in faith, to pray in the Spirit, and to keep ourselves in the Love of God

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. – John 13:34

And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. – Ephesians 5:2
