For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 6:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith… – Romans 3:23-35
“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments. – Luke 23:34
And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. – Mark 11:25
But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. – Matthew 6:15
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. – Ephesians 4:32
Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. – Colossians 3:13
At what point do you quit letting un-forgiveness (a tool of the enemy) control you?
Love: The idea of a government taking guns and forcing people to board a train to some camp has historical backing, as does the fact of Jihad, people wearing bombs, etc. in Murrysville a kid used a knife to stab and slash over 20 students, trucks, cars, and even planes have also been used – it is not the weapon that kills but the person behind the weapon. It is the lack of value for life, a lack of love for one another, A Lack of God in our schools and teachings, a lack of God in our homes and in the raising of our Children, and in our culture.
John 3:16, love kept Him there How is the church reflecting God’s love?
Can you imagine anything worse than people going through the motions on Sunday mornings, but never really having a change of heart; never really becoming involved with Jesus and His Church? Not to have any fire in the soul, to not know the Joy of the Lord, to sit lost and dead in sin and then to physically die lost to Christ by their own choice.
Living, alive to the world, but separated from truth, from life, from knowing the way, but choosing to remain where there are; stagnant and fearful to take their Next Step On their Journey. John 14:6. With no relationship with Christ and His Church they are headed to Hell in a handbasket!
And the world, our unbelieving neighbors, friends, co-workers and family are headed to the same place as the church watches and waits for someone do to something, not realizing that it is we who are to reach out to them and not them to come to us.
The church needs to be offering them heaven, the church holds the keys to salvation and eternal life. We are the ones called to Go, make, and teach! Jesus commands us in the Great Commission: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
It is time for the Church to rise up and fulfill our purpose, you and I together can make a difference in the lives of those we come in contact with – our neighbors. We have got to come together in the love and forgiveness of Christ, showing His love not only to those we do not know, but most certainly to those we do! Those we live with, work with, and especially those who worship with. They – those outside the church, will know we are His disciples by our love for one another! We Must Crucify Self, deny ourselves, set aside our differences, our agendas, and our hurts and be the Church that is built on the Confession that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God! (Matthew 16:16, John 11:25-27, see also Luke 9:35, Ephesians 4:13)
Jesus prayed that we would be one! That we here would be one and that we would be one with the rest of His church. That means that you and I have to become part of the Gospel story. Jesus suffered horrendously before and during the Crucifixion for you. We can no longer afford to sit by and do nothing. You can’t make the excuse, “Let somebody else do it.” That it’s someone else’s thing. You are the one called to Go! Take the Next Step! Matthew 28:18 The Authority of Jesus.
Jesus offered proof of God’s love, forgiveness and Justice in the way He suffered and died for our sins. He took on our sins – transferred the sins of the world, my sins and your sins and onto Himself on the cross.
Out of Love for your neighbor would you suffer as He did? Would you go to the extremes to forgive them, that He did to forgive You?
