2 Corinthians 12:1-10
The Jews, for the most part, believed in 3 heavens… For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his faithful love toward those who fear him. Ps 103:11
“Boasting is not something the Lord wants…
The so-called Super apostles (11:5) and their deceived followers in Corinth could only boast in their human achievements… Instead, God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. 1 Cor 1:27
If we are to boast let us boast in Christ…
He choose… Moses… David… Mary…
God still uses plain ordinary people to accomplish His will here and now, if we allow Him to do so…
Unfortunately, many try to accomplish, their agenda and plans in and by their own knowledge, achievements, and abilities… they do not rely on God.
If God has called you to a specific task then He will equip you to fulfill that purpose to complete the task. I can do all things thru Him who strengthens me. Phil 4:13
Paul relied on God… And while he could boast in what he had achieved…
God gave him this “thorn in the flesh” to keep him humble… His Grace was sufficient, His Power was perfected in weakness.
Biblical scholars lean toward this thorn being His eye sight, but there is no certainty other than it was in the flesh, a physical problem that weakened him in some way. Paul asked three times to have this ‘Thorn in the flesh” removed.
God’s grace is sufficient for you, it is by grace you have been saved thru faith, not by works of the flesh.
Grace: His divine unmerited assistance… is available for all who believe…
The unmerited love and favor of God, His Grace, is manifested in the person of Jesus Christ, this grace is sufficient for all who choose to believe.
