It is this Jesus that hung on a cross for you, who died for you, who rose on the third day for you, that is calling you to walk with Him in repentance and obedience. I don’t know what your next step is, but I do know this: You have one. God will never be finished taking you deeper in faith. There is always a next step. If you have not agreed to walk with God, then where are you headed?
God is going to ask us to do things that, to us, seem difficult if not impossible. He is asking us to go where we cannot see. He is going to take us places we have never been, ask us to do things we have never done nor know how to do.
And until we are willing to take that Next Step of Faith, in obedience, we will never accomplish what God wants us to do, go where God wants us to go or see what God wants us to see.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. – John 3:16-18
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. – Ephesians 2:8
There is far more to The Gift than is seen from the outside…
The Gift was not just the birth of a child it was the giving of a life!
In Matthew 25 after separating the unrighteous people (goats) from His righteous people (the sheep) because the people he compared to goats thought they were as righteous as those around them, Jesus said to them “Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” The way we choose to go will lead us to the place of the one we are following. If you only invest an hour or two following Jesus and the rest of the week going after the world where will you end up?
